About Book Club

One of the privileges at our facility, is reading.  At JDC, we have a wonderful library full of books, along with public library books for detainees to read.

The idea for book club came about when we noticed detainees were asking other detainees and staff about their favorite books.  We would have conversations about our favorites and suggestions for other books to pass on to others.   So it was decided to start a book club for detainees.

Book Club is a place for readers to get together to talk about the selected book and what their thoughts are about it.  Sometimes we really like the book, there were a couple none of us liked.  But we all like being able to share our thoughts, voice opinions and even have disagreements about what we read, because that is what book club is all about.
Any of our past book club members, if you would like to continue to follow our book club list, read and then send any comments to us.  We would love to hear from you, love to know you are still reading and love to hear what your is opinion about what you read.

Remember, reading is a great stress management tool, great way to expand your mind and widen your horizons!
